“How to stop snoring”

There many ways in which an individual can treat a chronic snoring problem.

Lifestyle changes, such as increasing exercise, weight loss, and cutting out alcohol and smoking can yield positive results. Along with these changes sleeping on your side and clearing your nasal cavity before bed time with saline rinses can help decrease snoring in some cases.

If these don’t work, it may be necessary to use medical products or see a specialist in order to treat the issue. Often a sleep study is needed to help determine the extent of how your snoring is impacting your sleep.

Poor sleep can contribute to feelings of daytime fatigue, depression, weight gain and mental fogginess.

If you believe snoring is impacting your daily life and you have tried simple measures to reduce your symptoms it may be time to see an ENT (ear nose and throat) doctor for further evaluation and treatment options.
