Telehealth Services Update
As of October 1, 2025, the Medicare telehealth flexibilities have expired due to the federal government shutdown.
Medicare coverage for telehealth services has reverted to pre-pandemic rules. Medicare patients can no longer access telehealth services from home; they must originate from approved rural facilities. This includes Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Tricare members.
Additionally, major commercial insurers, including Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, have announced they are mirroring Medicare’s restrictions, effective immediately. This includes limiting telehealth to approved facilities. Approved facilities for Medicare telehealth services are: Jesup, Tifton, Vidalia, Waycross, Hartwell, Douglas, Dublin, Statesboro. Patients must be in-clinic at these locations and can utilize our hybrid telehealth model.
All other locations must see patients in person. Patients with commercial insurance can utilize telehealth services from home ONLY if they self-pay.
We are monitoring the situation in Washington and its effect on our ability to deliver care to our patients.
